Insurance Reviewer/ Substance Abuse Counselor

*Utilization Reviewer/Substance Abuse Counselor* _Bachelor's required, Master's degree preferred_ Rate of pay based on experience, degree level, and relevant certifications Assist in facilitation of utilization reviews for residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation center.
Duties include: * Interpreting and documenting timely information to justify substance abuse/co-occurring treatment admission, need for continued stay, and proper utilization of the level of care for these services to insurance companies.
* Assessment to determine eligibility of referrals*.
*Ability to interpret clinical summaries and apply established medical necessity criteria to make utilization decisions.
* Provide counseling and education groups with adolescent and/or adult including court referrals meeting alcohol, drug and co-occurring high-risk criteria.
* Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
