The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for a Technology Coordinator for the Center for Teaching Excellence.
The CTE Technology Coordinator serves as the frontline contact for students and faculty on all technology related issues.
They assist instructors in the development, coordination, and administration of all online course content.
They collaborate with other academic initiatives to integrate program activities.
They advise students, as well as offer a range of services in technology support for students.
The Technology Coordinator operates under the guidance of the CTE Director.
Assist leadership with drafting policies, developing procedures, setting timelines, implementing program reviews, and learning assessments to gauge success of programs.
Produce written materials regarding policies and procedures, program descriptions, financial aid, credit transfer, and academic considerations.
Ensure necessary compliance with institutional policies and procedures that are required by the nature of the organization's activities and objectives.
Collaborate across disciplines and functional areas by building and maintaining relationships between the program and external stakeholders.
Assist in the coordination of a student academic program, including space allocation, staff supervision, and other administrative tasks.
Plan and implement Center for Teaching Excellence Programming May handle some administration and financial operations, such as the budgeting and accounting process for programs.
Specific tasks will include: Serve as liaison to IT to resolve student and instructor technology issues.
Maintain school division contact database.
Coordinate with Public Relations to prepare promotional materials.
Maintain Official Social Media Accounts Maintain departmental webpage Assist director to prepare faculty resources and training.
Design and develop e-learning modules.
Design and produce videos.
Create modern user experiences and communication modalities.
Mentor others in media development.
A Bachelor's degree is required, as well as at least four years of relevant experience.
The successful candidate must also possess the following skills: TECHNOLOGY SKILLS The successful candidate must be proficient in the use of software to produce instructional and promotional content.
Skills will include layout and design of print documents, photo- and video- editing, as well as online instructional design and Learning Management Systems.
Specific examples of software proficiency include: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Pro, Premiere Pro) Learning Management Systems such as Workday Learning, Moodle or Canvas.
Audio and Video Development tools such as Camtasia, Screen Flow, Vyod, Premier, Final Cut Pro and Audacity Digital Course Development tools such as Articulate Storyline 360 Web Development tools such as CSS HTML Wordpress, Drupal Cloud-Based Content Creation Software and Services This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.
The job does occasionally require overnight traveling to attend meetings and programs.
