The Plant Controller will report to the Bharat Forge USA CFO and will be responsible for planning and directing the accounting operations of the company.
The Plant Controller will play a crucial role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring the financial integrity of our plant operations.
Location: Surgoinsville, TN with 15% travel to Sanford, NC facility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with plant management to develop and manage the annual budget, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
• Complete monthly reporting closing and MIS within monthly close timeframe and compare actuals to budget or forecasts.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Analyze production costs, overhead, and operational expenses to identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Prepare reports on the status of ongoing cost saving assignments.
• Review cost center reports with the managers on a monthly basis.
• Work closely with the operations team to monitor inventory levels, production efficiency, and wastage, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
• Present financial data to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics to drive informed decision-making.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and maintain data integrity.
• Stay current with relevant accounting standards and regulations, implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.
• Maintain compliance on the filing of returns, including the tax returns.
• Develop cash flow forecasts, monitoring cash levels and ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational requirements.
Send the cash forecasts in advance to parent company for funding.
• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, assessing their financial impact on the plant's overall budget and cash flow against the benchmark returns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and finance, to streamline processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to finance and accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting, and financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
• Knowledge of local tax laws is desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
• 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and accounting roles within a manufacturing environment.
