JOB PURPOSE:
Provides technological advances and project management as it relates to electrical controls, production management, machine networking, and equipment reliability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and configure controls systems, including PLCs to optimize manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and to develop innovative solutions to meet those needs.
Develop control strategies and algorithms to ensure efficie3nt and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
Collaborate with equipment vendors and suppliers to integrate their systems into the overall control architecture.
Project management of equipment installations, facility rearrangement, energy savings projects and safety improvements.
Conduct system testing and validation to ensure adherence to design specifications and performance requirements.
Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams for effective utilization of control systems.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience, Competencies and Education
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in controls and automation engineering, preferably in manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of control systems and automation technologies.
Experience with designing and implementing control strategies and algorithms for complex manufacturing processes.
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in control systems, such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB: This position requires that the employee be able to perform the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Exposure to fast paced manufacturing areas, requiring PPE.
Minimal lifting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position requires that the employee be able to work effectively in a work environment involving:
Office environment
Manufacturing environment with exposure to glass and resin
