Drywall Hanger and Finisher

Responsibilities: - Hang drywall panels on walls and ceilings according to blueprints and specifications - Measure and cut drywall panels to fit around doors, windows, electrical outlets, and other obstacles - Install metal or wooden studs to create framing for drywall installation - Apply joint compound and tape to seams between drywall panels to create a smooth surface - Sand, smooth, and finish drywall surfaces to prepare them for painting or wallpapering - Repair damaged or cracked drywall by patching or replacing sections as needed - Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and meets quality standards Skills: - Mold remediation: Knowledge of proper techniques for removing and preventing mold growth in drywall - Carpenter: Proficient in carpentry skills such as measuring, cutting, and installing wood framing - Metal stud framing: Experience in installing metal studs for structural support in drywall installation - Plumb: Ability to ensure that walls and ceilings are level and plumb before installing drywall - Stucco and plaster: Familiarity with applying stucco or plaster finishes to drywall surfaces - Caulking: Skill in applying caulk to seal gaps between drywall panels or between drywall and other materials - Blueprint reading: Ability to interpret blueprints and follow specifications for drywall installation - Remodeling: Experience in working on remodeling projects, including removing old drywall and installing new panels - Restoration industry: Knowledge of techniques used in the restoration industry for repairing water-damaged or fire-damaged drywall Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
