We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our client's dynamic team.
This role is critical in ensuring the seamless integration of new builds with existing businesses, requiring a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and exceptional communication skills.
Position Overview: The Commercial Construction Superintendent will oversee all phases of new build construction projects attached to operational businesses, ensuring that renovations and expansions are carried out without disrupting the client's day-to-day operations.
This role demands a proactive approach to project management, including coordination with subcontractors, adherence to timelines, budget management, and ensuring all safety protocols are strictly followed.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience overseeing multi-million dollar construction projects, demonstrating a proven track record of successful project delivery on a large scale.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the construction project from start to finish, ensuring high-quality standards are met within the designated timeline and budget.
Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders to ensure clear communication and efficient workflow.
Develop and implement strategies to minimize disruption to the existing business operations during the construction process, ensuring the business remains open and functional.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, adherence to plans and specifications, and compliance with all building codes and safety regulations.
Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making processes to address challenges promptly and efficiently.
Maintain regular communication with the project team and stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, adjustments to plans, and resolution of issues.
Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained on time and that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent, with a strong portfolio of completed new build projects attached to operational businesses.
Demonstrated ability to manage renovations and construction processes in live environments, with minimal disruption to business operations.
Extensive experience overseeing multi-million dollar construction projects, with a strong understanding of financial management and budgeting.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage diverse teams.
Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to make decisions under pressure.
In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required Relevant certifications in construction management, safety, and project management are highly advantageous.
